What is Mathematical Donuts 🍩?

Mathematical Donuts is a newsletter that covers concepts in various parts of mathematics, through bite-sized and digestible puzzles and challenges. The collection of topics ranges from algebra to geometry, calculus to mechanics.

Occasionally, we delve into more complex topics such as the foundations of calculus and core ideas in undergraduate-level mathematics.

I believe in breaking down complex concepts in this intellectual pursuit so that people from all walks of life can appreciate the elegance and rigour imbued with this timeless subject.

About Me

My name is Barry and I study mathematics at the University of Warwick.

I have completed courses in Real Analysis, Abstract Algebra, Linear Algebra, Differential equations, Vector Calculus, Foundations of Pure Maths, Introductory Probability, Elementary Logic, Python & Java Programming in my first year of study.

In my second year of study, I am taking courses in Real Analysis, Group Theory, Optimization and Approximation Theory, Multivariable Analysis, Topologies and Introduction to Mathematical Biology, Stars and the Solar System and French.

On top of that, I am also writing a scientific essay on mathematical biology and modelling this year.

I definitely enjoyed the course on vector calculus, especially learning and understanding Green’s Theorem, Stoke’s Theorem and Divergence Theorem.
